THE CLASSES
Flow Yoga
A yoga class that incorporates energetic movement through a series of asanas (yoga postures), by which the student experiences a sense of fluid physical motion. Movement through these postures is matched with the breath, creating an even greater sense of flow, strength, ease and tension release. In this class we will be focusing on moving the prana and stuck energy in the joints, to leave the class feeling refreshed and revitalized.
HathaYoga
With a Hatha class the focus is on correct technique. Asanas are held longer and there are more cues than for a Vinyasa or a Yin Yoga class.
It will involve a warm up leading into sun salutation and/or balance asanas - building in energy to a peak, and then Integration with some floor based Yin postures to conclude the class.
These are mixed level classes, suitable for most abilities.
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga specifically works with gently stretching and strengthening our connective tissues. Wonderful for working with the spine and lower body. Deeply meditative and deeply relaxing.
We include soothing savasana to integrate the practices of the class and leave you feeling deeply relaxed. The perfect mid-week practice to integrate body and mind and settle and soothe the nervous system.
Soma Yoga
Soma Yoga incorporates slow mindful movements that initiates a neuromuscular re-education process. Through these slow exploratory exercises, communication is re-established between our muscles and our brain. In this way our brain can regain sensory awareness and voluntary control of our muscles. With practice this sensory motor training resets our muscle length, resulting in more relaxed muscles.
